1,2,3,5,6,7,11: Joanne Hynes
4: Mark T Burke Millinery
8: Pauric Sweeney Handbags
9: Tyrrell & Brennan dress
10: Caroline Mitchell Knitwear
12: Myself with designer, Natalie B Coleman
14: List of attendees, notice my name?
Arthur Cox, one of Ireland’s leading law firms, in conjunction with the Irish International Business Network (IIBN) recently hosted a fashion showcase event, the first in a series of three international events designed to support Irish business, by connecting Irish fashion designers with the business communities.
Waiters zig-zagged in between the fashionable attendees as they mingled with one another, sipping on wines and nibbling on the yummy snacks provided by the well dressed waiters. Everyone was buzzing with excitement as they shuffled into their seats, eagerly awaiting the start of the showcase. I was incredibly excited when I discovered I had a reserved front row seat. Although held in a grand hall, The Arthur Cox Irish Fashion Event proved to be very warm and inviting. Surprisingly, there was no music accompanying the models as they elegantly graced the catwalk in the beautiful all Irish designs. However, this was a very nice touch, making the show more intimate and allowing us to feel closer to the designers as they described each intricately designed piece in greater detail.
After the show, I had the delight of chatting with the designers and viewing the items first hand that had previously decorated the runway. Having the chance to try on some of the pieces that stood out to me personally was very enjoyable. I was particularly keen to try on one of the collars by Joanne Hynes as they looked absolutely stunning. It's impossible to even contemplate choosing a favourite designer but each piece by Joanne Hynes was edgy and particularly appealing to the younger audience. However, they are so vibrant that they can work for anyone! I also enjoyed Tyrrell & Brennan's sophisticated ensembles, who, if I might add, were fabulously friendly and the millinery by Mark T Burke was fresh, unique and very inspiring. The knitwear by Caroline Mitchell also really caught the eye of my Mum, a huge fan of cardigans, who would recommend it to everyone and everyone.
Many thanks to Nicky Crichton from MCsquared PR agency for this wonderful opportunity!
