Hello 2014!5:29 PM
Looking through these photos reminds me of so many wonderful experiences. I have certainly had my fair share of struggles over these past five years, for me due to poor health, but I can't wait to start the next chapter in my life: 2014. The end of a year can be an emotional time but for me, I find it exhilarating. It's crazy to think about how quickly this year has been and gone!
Sharing my experiences with you all has honestly helped me so much. Flashing back to November of 2010, when I started my blog very 'spur of the moment', I never would have thought it would have rose to such prominence in my life. I have come to learn that everything really does happen for a reason, although in most cases we don't realise this until months, or for me years, later. Had I not suffered from long term illness, I never would have fulfilled the necessary changes in my life... I would never have even started blogging! I have always struggled with my confidence but 2013 was a year in which I realised that we often create the battles we face in our lives ourselves.
When I first started attending press events and previews, I found it difficult to even go up to fellow attendees and do something as simple as saying 'hi'. I'm about 5"8 tall and even wearing heels used to be something that was a no no for me. But thinking about it, what was I thinking? There's no point in living in fear, even if it's fear of something as small as wearing a pair of 5" heels. Most people are shocked when I tell them that to this day, I still find it daunting to shoot a blog post in the middle of a public place! However, embracing my fears has proven to be the best way of changing my mindset and hopefully, put me on the path to becoming the woman I want to be.
The opportunities I have been given thanks to my blog have been unbelievable, however, they do not exceed the personal progressions I have made, particularly with my people skills and self confidence. Blogging has been both the scariest yet incredible ride of my life and I would like to thank you all for your support over the years, and to those that have sent me messages of thanks and encouragement. It may sound cheesy but you have no idea how much it all means to me.
Although the start of a new chapter can be very daunting indeed, my best advice would be to throw yourself into as many projects possible - whether work related or on a more personal level. Do things you love and live your life to the fullest. I may be a tender age but it's so important to remember that unfortunately we won't live forever, meaning we need to make the most of every minute of everyday that we are lucky enough to live. So, here's to 2014 - Let's make the most of it!
Until next year lovelies,
