When in Dublin

Dublin is such a beautiful city, one which I have yet to explore. It's quite surprising really considering that I've lived here for most of my life. I traveled into the city last week for Next's SS14 preview and had such a blast! We shot these photos before the event and I think the end result shows just how pretty my city really is. The greenery throughout Dublin is in contrast to the hustle and bustle of city life, and the park at St. Stephen's green offers a tranquil setting amidst a hectic atmosphere. It truly is like a little slice of heaven and makes me appreciate the beauty of Ireland that bit more. I stood beside a semi-circle of rough stone pillars built to commemorate the famine, and I felt as if they were protecting the park's sense of peacefulness, keeping the busy city life outside of 'the wall'. Inside the park, I felt as if I could have been in the middle of nowhere, in what seemed at times like a lost jungle, and as soon as I stepped outside of the wall, I snapped back into reality and the rushed feeling of life.

Unfortunately, I was sick when Next last had their preview, and so, I was beyond excited to meet the team and preview their Spring/Summer collection. Lots of vibrant prints, and bold colours, along with sophisticated yet trendy co-ords can be expected from the brand this season. As a teenager, I find that the majority of my peer group wouldn't look to Next as being a go-to shopping destination, myself included. However, seeing the collection first hand made me realise just how silly we are to dismiss such vibrancy without acknowledging what's on offer. I'm really looking forward to embracing Next and their future collections with a renewed vigor and enthusiasm, and can't wait to add some of their pieces to my wardrobe! Thanks to the team at Next for such a lovely evening!
