The Young Designer of the Year Awards12:54 AM
Hey guys! I hope you've all had a relaxing weekend and are feeling revitalised for the week ahead. Mine has actually been pretty hectic, but very productive at that. I'm so happy to share some big news with you... Super-duper early on Tuesday morning, I will be on a plane heading to London for the final day of London Fashion Week! You have absolutely no idea how incredibly excited I am - This will be my first EVER fashion week experience and will be such a dream come true for me. The best part is how unexpected a trip it will be. I'll be attending two events and of course stopping off at Somerset House to do some style-watching and documenting my adventure along the way, so make sure you follow along on Instagram and Facebook so you don't miss a thing! I have been glued to my Instagram catching up on all LFW action and I'm so impressed by the SS15 collections, my favourites probably being Sophia Webster and Topshop Unique! I'm really looking forward to what's yet to be unveiled and can't wait to be a part of the action!!!
Fashion month is no doubt a highlight for me each year and I was thrilled to kick mine off a couple of weeks ago with Dublin Fashion Festival, Ireland's answer to fashion week! It's great because it's so accessible to everybody, yet still having some exclusive invite-only events for the fash-pack here in Dublin, with one of these events being the Young Designer of the Year Awards, which I attended. It's amazing to see emerging young Irish designers being given the chance to showcase at such a large scale, and the night was truly spectacular. The iconic Bank of Ireland on College Green provided the perfect backdrop, with passers by gazing over the gates for a peak at the art created by the future of Irish fashion. As the judges deliberated over who the winner would be, attendees were also treated to a preview of some other major Irish brands' latest collections, which I thoroughly enjoyed! Above are some of my personal favourite designs along with the winner, Ciaran Gormley, pictured with his design modelled by Teodora Sutra. Enjoy!
