Hey guys! So as you all know, I celebrated my 18th birthday this weekend with a surprise night away to the beautiful Tarifa with two of my favourite people; my mum and my sister. On our first day there, we dropped our bags at our hotel for the night, quickly changed into some more appropriate beach attire and headed straight down to the sandy shores of Tarifa. My mum and sister had heard so much about Bolonia beach from friends and so we decided that we'd spend the rest of the day chilling out there.

Truth be told, I'm a beach freak and so I couldn't have thought of any better way to celebrate my introduction to adulthood. From having a refreshing swim in the sea to crunching my toes between the warm, golden sand... It was absolute heaven - and just what I needed! As a creative, my mind never switches off and rarely my downtime is downtime, as I've always got some project or idea in my mind and as a result, I often really struggle to shut off and just relax. I still haven't quite mastered the whole 'relaxation' thing just yet (I mean, I managed to shoot 3 blog posts and vlog my whole trip... it's all coming soon ;)), but I'm definitely on the right track ;)

As the trip was a surprise, I had no idea where the adventure would take me and so found it really hard to pack. However, mum gave me a little help and advised that I pack some swimwear with this bikini being my first choice. I wanted something vibrant and colourful, essentially something that would epitomise those summer vibes, and I think this beach ensemble did just that. Polka dots are such a classic print and ooze retro elegance, but I love how the turquoise and pink make it that bit funkier. I paired it with a gorgeous bold yellow sarong quite last minute, but I love how it complements the turquoise and pink tones so well. The photos have me sat here at my laptop longing for the beach... I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them :)

Talk soon,
H x
